Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his wife, Serra, have decided to part ways after three decades together, in what is being described as a “completely amicable” separation. The couple, who tied the knot near Barcelona in 2014, met in 1994 and have three children: Maria (24), Marius (22), and Valentina (17).
Serra, a Brazilian journalist and writer, reportedly made the decision to separate in December. The couple’s personal circle was initially informed, and they have requested that details of the separation remain private. Despite the split, reports from Spain emphasize that their relationship remains friendly, stable, and cordial.
While Guardiola has remained in Manchester, Serra has spent much of her time in Barcelona, where she has been focused on managing her family’s fashion business, Serra Claret. Serra has been a pillar of support throughout Guardiola’s illustrious career, including attending significant moments like Manchester City’s Champions League victory in June 2023.
In recent months, Guardiola’s professional life has faced challenges with Manchester City enduring a rough patch, marking one of their worst stretches under his management. Despite this, Guardiola extended his contract with City through 2027 in November, quashing rumors that he might leave after his previous contract expired.
