Horror fans, rejoice! The Fear Street saga isn’t ending anytime soon. R.L. Stine, the iconic author behind the beloved Fear Street and Goosebumps series, has confirmed that Netflix is developing three more movies in the Fear Street franchise.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter during an interview about Goosebumps Season 2, Stine revealed that the scripts for the upcoming Fear Street movies are already in progress. “The writers are working,” Stine teased. “So I’ve got my fingers crossed.”
The Fear Street journey began in July 2021 with a groundbreaking three-part trilogy released weekly on Netflix. While inspired by Stine’s books, the films carved their own path, blending elements from the novels with original storylines. Departing from the lighter tone of the source material, the movies embraced a darker edge, earning R ratings for intense violence, gore, and mature themes.
Fans can also look forward to Fear Street: Prom Queen, the franchise’s fourth installment, slated to premiere on Netflix in 2025. Set during Shadyside High’s prom season in 1988, the movie promises a chilling tale of power, jealousy, and survival. When an unexpected nominee shakes up the race for prom queen, the school’s “It Girls” begin to vanish under mysterious circumstances.
As excitement builds for Prom Queen and the future of the Fear Street franchise, horror enthusiasts will want to keep their eyes peeled for more updates. With three new films in the works, the legacy of Shadyside is set to get even bloodier.
