West Wilson has officially confirmed he will not be returning to Summer House for season 11. The reality star broke his silence during a June 24 appearance on the Broadcast Boys podcast, addressing the speculation that had been swirling since news of his departure first surfaced.
“I wanted to tell it on my own, but that is true,” the 31-year-old sports journalist confessed. “But in their defense, I don’t think it would have been a fun summer”.
Wilson’s exit comes after a season dominated by his bombshell romance with co-star Amanda Batula, which sparked intense scrutiny and fractured friendships within the cast. The couple confirmed they were dating on March 31, just months after Batula announced her separation from estranged husband and co-star Kyle Cooke. Wilson had previously dated Batula’s best friend, Ciara Miller, adding another layer of tension to the situation.
During the podcast, Wilson addressed rumors that he and Batula rushed their public announcement because of an alleged video showing them together inside his New York City apartment.
“I haven’t seen it but I’ve heard from credible sources it does [exist],” Wilson said. “It’s very illegal, I’d like to note”.
He explained that from what he’s been told, a neighbor across the street captured footage of them “canoodling” through his window. “That’s what kinda kicked off everything into panic, rush mode”.
Wilson also clarified the timeline of their physical relationship. “We f–ked after the statement,” he shared, “but we’d been like making out and having sleepovers for a long time. I was still doing the wrong thing but I was like, ‘I’m not committing a crime'”.
He admitted that an earlier comment he made on Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia’s podcast, where he called Batula “single” and “hot”, was a mistake. “Nothing was happening at that point in time, and that just proves how big of a f—ing idiot I am,” he said.
Despite the controversy, Wilson and Batula are still together. He confirmed he’s met her parents, calling the interaction “lovely” and her father Frank “great”. When asked where he sees himself in two years, he responded, “in Amanda’s backyard”.
Wilson also denied rumors that he wanted to replace the original cast members. “That is the first time I texted Bravo and been like, ‘Can we clear this up? Because this is f—ing insane,'” he said. “Absolutely not how I move”.
As Wilson steps away from reality TV, he continues his work as a sports social and editorial producer for Complex and co-hosts the podcast Show Me Something with WNBA player Sophie Cunningham . The season 11 cast has not yet been officially announced.
