Tyga is hitting back at critics who accused him of creating a fully AI-generated album. In a new interview, the rapper clarified exactly how artificial intelligence was used on his latest project, $TARFACE, and addressed Doja Cat’s blunt criticism.

“Unfortunately for Gen-Z, they can’t read, so nobody reads,” Tyga said when asked about the backlash. “What I said was, I used AI-assisted things in the production. All the vocals are me. I wrote all the songs.” He explained that AI was used specifically for “80s synths and some of the guitar solos,” adding, “I didn’t make a full AI album. I was in the studio 3 months working on this.”

The clarification comes after his album received a rare 0.0 score from Pitchfork, marking the publication’s first zero in 19 years. Tyga admitted he was “confused” by the review, saying, “I was expecting them to go back and write a better review. But it’s alright.”

Tyga also addressed Doja Cat calling him a “penis” for making an AI album. “I love Doja, but she made a demonic album. I still love her,” he said. The remark appeared to reference Doja Cat’s 2024 album Scarlet, which featured darker themes and imagery.
