Nigerian music queen, Tiwa Savage, has opened up about her love life in a way that’s got everyone talking. At 44, the “Somebody’s Son” hitmaker says she’s yet to experience true love — except from one very special person: her son, Jamil.
In a heart-to-heart chat with Zeze Mills, Tiwa revealed that when she looks back at her past relationships, what she once thought was love now feels like nothing more than infatuation.
“I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son,” she confessed. “At that time I thought I was in love, but nah… I was just infatuated. Even when I was married, I don’t think I experienced true love.”
The singer, who tied the knot with former manager Tunji “Teebillz” Balogun in 2013 before their divorce in 2018, admitted she’s starting to believe love might not be in the cards for her this lifetime.
“Maybe love isn’t for me because I have tried over and over again,” she said.
