The new season of The Masked Singer has barely begun, but fans are already buzzing about who’s hiding behind one of the quirky new costumes. This year, the show features contestants dressed as Spaghetti Bolognese, Toad in the Hole, and even a character cheekily named “Bush.” And guess what? Viewers are convinced they’ve cracked the case on Bush’s identity!
The top contender? Tom Fletcher, lead singer of pop band McFly. Fans are drawing clues from comments made by Tom’s bandmate Danny Jones, who won The Masked Singer last year as Piranha. During his time on The Voice, Danny revealed he’d been given a choice between playing Bush or Piranha on the show. This tidbit has sparked wild speculation online, with one fan saying, “Tbh, I think it’s Tom. It just looks like him—idk how to explain!”
Others aren’t so sure. Some believe Bush might be another McFly member like Harry Judd, or even a ’90s boyband star like Matt Willis from Busted. However, skeptics point out that with Busted’s Charlie Simpson (aka Rhino) winning The Masked Singer in 2023 and Danny taking the crown in 2024, producers might steer clear of another McFly or Busted member so soon.
Adding to the excitement, this season also welcomes Love Island host Maya Jama as a new judge, replacing Rita Ora. Maya has joined regulars Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, and Jonathan Ross, with Joel Dommett returning as the charming host. Davina recently shared her delight over Maya’s debut, saying, “She’s thrown herself in at the deep end and is smashing it! She’s brought so much fun to the panel.”
Meanwhile, fans can’t stop chuckling over the name “Bush,” with Davina admitting it’s one of the funniest costume names yet. She joked, “Being called Bush every five minutes by Joel has me in stitches!”
Whether Bush is Tom Fletcher or someone else entirely, one thing’s for sure: this season of The Masked Singer is shaping up to be as unpredictable and hilarious as ever. Let the guessing games begin!
