London is set to sparkle with royal elegance as the largest-ever exhibition of Queen Elizabeth II’s fashion prepares to open at Buckingham Palace in spring 2026. Titled “Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style,” this landmark showcase will shine a spotlight on the late monarch’s enduring influence on British fashion — from coronation glamour to countryside chic.

To mark the year the Queen would have turned 100, the Royal Collection Trust is pulling back the curtain on more than 200 garments, making it the most comprehensive public display of Her Majesty’s wardrobe to date. Think wedding gowns, coronation robes, iconic hats, and even her off-duty tartan skirts and silk headscarves — all curated to tell the story of a woman who ruled not just the Commonwealth, but the catwalk in her own quiet way.

The collection highlights the exceptional craftsmanship behind each outfit and offers rare insights into the personal touches that made her style so uniquely British. Expect to see Queen Elizabeth’s 1947 Norman Hartnell wedding dress, her dazzling 1953 coronation gown, and plenty of fashion moments that defined a reign.

Exhibition curator Caroline de Guitaut explained:

“Only now, as the late Queen’s fashion archive comes under the care of Royal Collection Trust, can we tell the story of a lifetime of thoughtful style choices… This exhibition will be a celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s enduring fashion legacy.”

Alongside the garments, the exhibit will also display accessories, shoes, jewelry, original design sketches, fabric swatches, and even personal correspondence that reveal how her style choices were shaped.

Running from spring to autumn 2026 at The King’s Gallery, this once-in-a-lifetime exhibit promises to be a must-see for royal fans, fashion lovers, and history buffs alike. And for those who want to take the experience home, a companion book titled “Queen Elizabeth II: Fashion and Style” — authored by de Guitaut with insights from designers and style historians — will also be available.

Tickets go on sale in November 2025, so mark your calendars — the Queen’s style reigns again, and this is one royal wardrobe you won’t want to miss.
