Rory Farrell, co-host of the popular “New Rory & Mal” podcast, has revealed he suffered multiple strokes over several days after initially brushing off the warning signs as vertigo. The scary ordeal began on his way to attend a Jay-Z pop-up event in Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood, where he became violently ill and lost the ability to move parts of his body.
Instead of seeking immediate medical attention, Rory waited in his car until symptoms eased and still made it to the Jay-Z event, though he says he has virtually no memory of being there. He recounted falling twice while trying to walk back to his car and sleeping outside his office for four hours before going home the next day. He admitted he should have gone to the hospital immediately but didn’t want to miss podcast obligations.
After going to his doctor, Rory was confirmed to have suffered multiple strokes and ultimately required surgery. Despite the health scare, he says he’s still determined to attend Jay-Z’s upcoming show. Jay-Z is celebrating his 30-year career with a sold-out run at Yankee Stadium this week, followed by shows in London, Paris, and Los Angeles.
Rory openly admitted he made a mistake by trying to “tough it out” instead of seeking help at the first sign of symptoms. His story serves as a warning about ignoring serious health warning signs and the importance of getting checked out immediately, especially when symptoms like dizziness, vomiting, and loss of movement occur.
