Presley Gerber’s death is being investigated as a suspected drug overdose after the 27-year-old model was found unresponsive at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, according to reports. The Santa Monica Police Department reportedly received a 911 call at 9:35 a.m. Sunday, and officers performed life-saving measures before Gerber was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m. Other reports have confirmed that he died at a rehabilitation facility, although the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner had not publicly disclosed an official cause of death.
Police are currently investigating the death as an overdose and say that no foul play is suspected. An autopsy had not yet been completed at the time of the report, meaning the official cause of death remains pending. Gerber, the only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, had been receiving treatment at the facility and had previously spoken publicly about his struggles with substance use and mental health.
Gerber began modeling as a teenager and went on to work with major fashion brands including Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana. He also used his social media platforms to discuss mental health and recovery, including a series called “Mental Health Mondays.” His family confirmed his death and asked for privacy during what they described as a very difficult and painful time.
