In his first major television interview since his ex-wife’s highly publicized murder trial ended in a dramatic mistrial, Patrick Clancy is opening up about the unimaginable tragedy, his ongoing grief, and the heavy burden of online scrutiny. Sitting down with CBS’s 60 Minutes alongside his new wife, reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Rachel Danis, Clancy reflected on the events leading up to the January 2023 deaths of his three young children, Cora, Callan, and Dawson.
During the emotional interview, Clancy addressed the severe postpartum struggles experienced by his ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy, prior to the tragedy.
Doing the Best He Could: When asked if he felt he could have prevented the tragedy or if he failed as a partner, Clancy admitted that while he lives with the outcome every day, he believes he did the best he could with the knowledge and resources he had at the time.
Honoring His Children: Clancy shared deeply personal details about keeping his children’s memories alive, noting that he still talks to them and asks them for help to stay connected.
The broadcast also addressed the intense digital storm and conspiracy theories directed at Patrick following the trial. Joined by Dr. Danis whom he married earlier this year in New York the couple defended their path forward. Danis expressed her support for Patrick, describing him as a deeply selfless father while working to help him honor his children as they look toward starting a new chapter together.
