NBA YoungBoy is opening up about a secret health battle that impacted his last tour and sharing his final plans for his music career. In a revealing interview on the Open Thoughts podcast, the 26-year-old rapper disclosed that a doctor discovered the left side of his heart was swollen during his Make America Slime Again tour. “I never told nobody. I just kept doing every show,” he said, adding that he completed the tour despite the condition.

YoungBoy (real name Kentrell DeSean Gaulden) revealed that his heart remains enlarged and connected the health struggle to the emotional weight in his music. “That explains the music though, right? She’s hurting,” he said. The Louisiana-born rapper has relocated to South Korea after being pardoned by President Trump in 2025 for gun-related charges. He has no plans to return to the U.S., stating he feels the country holds “nothing for me at all”.

When asked about his future in music, YoungBoy revealed the end is in sight. He said he only has “one or two” albums left, with the next one, All Dogs Go to Heaven, expected before his birthday on Oct. 20 . He also confirmed he will tour “one more time throughout my whole life, and that’s it”.
