A terrifying moment unfolded on stage during Machine Gun Kelly’s sold-out show at London’s O2 Arena Thursday night when an invited fan suddenly plunged through a gap in the stage floor. The dramatic incident, captured from multiple angles, shows the woman stepping directly into an open section while dancing behind the performer.
The 35-year-old rapper, born Colson Baker, had invited a group of fans onstage during his performance of “bloody valentine” as part of his Lost Americana Tour. One young woman was dancing enthusiastically at the front of the group when she failed to notice a large rectangular opening in the stage and stepped directly into it, striking her face on the edge as she fell.
In an incredible display of presence of mind, MGK turned around just as the woman disappeared through the floor. Rather than stopping the show entirely, he improvised new lyrics to check on her condition while continuing to perform. “Oh my god, hold up!” he exclaimed before singing, “I really hope you’re fine, I’d give everything up tonight, If I could just… ARE YOU OKAY?”
The woman was quickly pulled back onto the stage with assistance from the rapper and nearby fans. She nodded that she was unharmed, and the performance resumed with renewed energy as the crowd erupted in cheers.
After completing the song, the fan attempted to apologize to MGK for the disruption. The rapper’s response has since gone viral for its genuine kindness. “Oh, dude. No, no, no. Sorry? That was the coolest thing you could have ever f—ing done,” he told her.
He continued with an impromptu pep talk: “This is the first time I’ve ever sold out The O2. That was the first time anyone has ever fallen off the stage, dude. Let’s f—ing go”. As a memento of the unforgettable night, MGK removed his hat and placed it on the woman’s head before she left the stage with a massive smile on her face.
The fan confirmed she was okay before continuing to dance with the rest of the group through the remainder of the song. While the fall looked painful, her face appeared to hit the stage edge during the descent, no serious injuries have been reported. The incident serves as a reminder of the potential hazards of interactive concert experiences, though in this case, the situation ended with a fan gaining a story she’ll never forget and a piece of memorabilia to prove it.
