Real Madrid star Luka Modric has defended teammate Kylian Mbappe, who has recently faced criticism from fans due to a scoring drought. Despite Madrid’s impressive 4-0 win over Osasuna in La Liga, Mbappe’s lack of goals in the last four matches has frustrated some supporters and sparked concerns about his current form.
Addressing the criticism, Modric reassured fans, stating, “Don’t doubt Mbappe. I’m sure he will help us a lot in the future.” He emphasized Mbappe’s skill and potential, adding, “He will show everyone why he has been and still is one of the best players in the world.”
Since joining Real Madrid from PSG on a free transfer in July 2024, Mbappe has scored 8 goals and provided 2 assists in 16 games across all competitions. Though his current contract extends until 2029, the French star, now 25, has faced high expectations from the start, and Modric’s support highlights the faith his teammates have in him to deliver as the season progresses.
