Leslie Mann is getting refreshingly honest about what it takes to make a marriage last nearly 30 years. The Spa Weekend star shared the surprisingly relatable secret to her decades-long relationship with director Judd Apatow during the Aug. 20 episode of Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast.
When Kelce asked if the nearly 30 years had flown by, Mann’s response was blunt. “No,” she said, adding, “It’s so hard.” This honesty led Kelce to suggest that maybe that was the secret, a suggestion Mann fully agreed with. “Just accepting how hard it is, and not trying to fool yourself,” Mann said. “That’s the secret.”
The actress also admitted that seeing other couples talk about their “perfect marriages” can make her feel insecure about her own. She joked, “And then what the f–k am I doing with him?… I can’t leave now because it’s almost 30 years and that’s lame.” Beyond the humor, Mann emphasized the strong foundation of her relationship. “We find each other entertaining and funny,” she said, adding, “He’s my best friend, and I tell him everything.”
