As the Los Angeles wildfires continue their devastating rampage, claiming 16 lives so far, tensions are mounting over celebrities’ alleged water waste. While the fires ravage homes and landscapes, stars like Kim Kardashian have come under fire for reportedly squandering vital water resources despite strict conservation rules.
The 2022 water restrictions limited residents to watering their gardens twice a week for just eight minutes, aiming to preserve water for emergencies like the ongoing wildfires. Yet, some celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Sylvester Stallone, and Kevin Hart, have faced hefty fines for exceeding their water allocations. Kim, for instance, was fined after using an eye-popping 232,000 gallons over her allowed limit at her $60 million property in The Oaks—near the epicenter of the current fires.
Though Kim reportedly installed water-saving measures after her fine, critics remain vocal. One neighbor told The Mail on Sunday: “These celebrities act entitled. Everyone was told to conserve water for situations like this, but they carried on because they can afford the fines.”
Meanwhile, Khloe Kardashian has taken aim at Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, calling her leadership during the crisis a “joke.” Sharing her frustration on Instagram, Khloe supported LA Fire Chief Kirstin Crowley, who earlier criticized city leadership for hindering the fire department’s efforts. “I stand by YOU, Chief Crowley!” Khloe wrote. “Mayor Bass, you are a joke!!!!”
Despite the backlash, Khloe praised rescue workers, commending their bravery as they battle six wildfires, including the massive Palisades and Eaton blazes, which account for all 16 confirmed deaths.
As California faces the devastating consequences of these fires, both local leaders and high-profile residents are feeling the heat—literally and figuratively.
