Kylie Minogue reacted warmly to comparisons between Taylor Swift’s new album “The Life of a Showgirl” and her own 2005 Showgirl era, posting on Instagram August 14 that “Showgirl life is ‘a thing,’ multidimensional and so much more than feathers and dazzle.”
The Australian pop star expressed “respect and admiration to all my fellow hard working Showgirls” after fans pointed out similarities between Swift’s burlesque-style album imagery and Minogue’s iconic Showgirl tour aesthetic.
Swift announced her 12th studio album on Travis Kelce’s podcast, explaining it captures her “inner life” during the Eras Tour.
