Kid Cudi is defending his decision to forgive and reconcile with Ye after the two shared the stage during Ye’s Chicago concerts over the weekend.
The pair, who had a very public falling out in 2022, performed together in Chicago, marking a significant moment in their renewed friendship. The reunion was met with excitement from fans, but also some criticism given Ye’s controversial past remarks.
Responding to a tweet from Peter Rosenberg, who expressed disappointment in people supporting Ye, Cudi made his position clear. “I’ve been around Ye, and I can honestly say talking to him now is how it used to be when I first signed to him, but even better. He was dealing with mental health struggles for years and now he’s good. Everyone deserves some grace when they family.”
Rosenberg later clarified that his tweet was not aimed at Cudi and that he was instead referring to fans. The exchange highlighted the ongoing debate about separating an artist’s personal actions from their work.
