KARD Announce Disbandment After 9 Years Together

K-pop’s most iconic co-ed group is calling it quits. KARD will officially disband after nearly a decade together, with their first full-length album and a final world tour marking the end of their journey.

DSP Media confirmed the news on July 6, announcing that the four-member group, BM, J.Seph, Somin, and Jiwoo, mutually agreed to conclude their activities following the release of Where To Now? (Part.2) : NOWHERE on July 28. The album will be followed by a farewell world tour spanning Asia, North America, and Europe.

KARD debuted on July 19, 2017, as one of the few mixed-gender idol groups in K-pop. Their unique blend of Latin, Moombahton, and reggaeton sounds set them apart from the industry’s more traditional formula. Hits like “Oh NaNa,” “Don’t Recall,” and “Hola Hola” earned them a devoted international fanbase, particularly in Brazil and Mexico.

The group’s co-ed lineup, two men and two women, was a rarity in the genre, and their chemistry on stage became their signature. “The members have poured their hearts into preparing this album and tour,” DSP Media said in their statement.

The upcoming album serves as a continuation of their 2024 mini-album Where To Now? (Part.1: Yellow Light), completing a narrative arc about searching for truth and finding answers. For fans, it’s bittersweet: the group’s first full-length studio album is also their last.

The DRIFT World Tour, which began with performances in Tokyo on July 4, will take the group across Europe and Asia before concluding. The announcement came just days after member BM held a solo event in Taipei, adding to the shock.

DSP Media has asked fans to continue supporting the members as they embark on individual journeys. “We hope these final activities will become cherished memories for HIDDEN KARD,” the agency said.
