Jay Leno Seeks to Sell New Hampshire Property Amid Wife’s Conservatorship

Jay Leno wants courts in New Hampshire to recognize his wife’s conservatorship in California so he can sell one of their New England properties. The comedian filed court docs earlier this month, telling the court he wants to sell “certain real estate located in New Hampshire” that they hold as community property.

The property in question appears to be a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom ranch built in 1995, which he listed for just under $400,000 back in June. Jay says he’s planning to sell the property to generate funds. The property is held as community property under California law, where the conservatorship is already in effect.

Jay has been Mavis’s caretaker throughout her battle with dementia. The court has yet to rule on the request. In California, a judge previously granted Jay a conservatorship over Mavis, citing that she “lacks the capacity to give informed consent to medical treatment”.
