Quadri Aruna has reclaimed his spot as the top-ranked table tennis player in Africa, according to the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) world rankings. The Nigerian legend, who last played at the United States Smash in July, moved up thanks to the ITTF’s rolling 12-month points system — which rewards consistent performances over the past year.
This climb places Aruna back at the summit of African table tennis, reinforcing his legacy as one of the continent’s most decorated athletes in the sport.
Meanwhile, rising star Matthew Kuti has broken new ground by becoming Nigeria’s second-highest ranked player. Kuti’s steady progress and impressive international outings have finally paid off, earning him this major career milestone.
The rankings update marks a significant moment for Nigerian table tennis, with a seasoned veteran returning to the top and a promising newcomer breaking through.
