Zachery Ty Bryan has been sentenced to 19 months in an Oregon jail after pleading guilty to a probation violation, adding another chapter to the former child star’s mounting legal troubles.

The Home Improvement actor appeared in Lane County court virtually on Friday for sentencing, according to KEZI News in Oregon. He could not be present in person because he is currently in a California jail serving a separate 16-month sentence for DUI.

The 19-month sentence stems from Bryan’s November arrest in Eugene, Oregon, when police said they responded to a reckless endangerment call and found Bryan in a pickup truck with his fiancée, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, and their three small children.

Authorities claimed Bryan violated the terms of his probation from a previous domestic violence conviction because he was not supposed to be in contact with his fiancée. Bryan ultimately pleaded guilty to the probation violation.

Bryan’s legal troubles have mounted in recent years. His separate 16-month DUI sentence in California came after multiple arrests and convictions related to impaired driving. The Oregon probation violation adds to a growing list of cases.

The actor’s legal issues extend beyond the West Coast. He is also facing a DUI case in Oklahoma, and authorities reportedly plan to extradite him to Oklahoma at some point to face those charges.

With the 19-month Oregon sentence now imposed, Bryan will serve time consecutively with his California DUI sentence. The extradition to Oklahoma looms as the next potential legal hurdle for the former child star.

Bryan rose to fame as Brad Taylor, the eldest son on the hit ABC sitcom Home Improvement, which ran from 1991 to 1999 alongside Tim Allen. In recent years, his public narrative has shifted from nostalgic recognition to a series of legal battles and domestic incidents.

For now, Bryan remains in California custody, with a lengthy road ahead as he navigates multiple sentences and pending charges across state lines.
