Nollywood star Genoveva Umeh has clinched the prestigious TFAA Prize for Acting at the 18th edition of The Future Awards Africa (TFAA), held on November 10, 2024. Known as one of Africa’s most celebrated awards platforms, TFAA recognizes young trailblazers and changemakers across various fields, spotlighting emerging talent in areas like acting, technology, and entrepreneurship. The 2024 theme, “Celebrating the Great and Daring,” emphasizes the achievements of individuals who push boundaries in their industries.

Umeh, a British-Nigerian actress, has captivated audiences with her roles in groundbreaking projects, including her performance in Blood Sisters, Nigeria’s first Netflix original crime thriller series. She also won Best Supporting Actress at the 2024 AMVCA for her role in Breath of Life, a Prime Video original. Other nominees for the acting category included Uche Montana, Mike Afolarin, Kayode Ojuolape, and Jide Oyegbile (J-Blaze), each representing the next generation of African cinema.
