Fitness influencer Connor Murphy is dead at 32 after drowning in a lake in Samut Prakan, Thailand. The “looksmaxxing” YouTuber, who had over 400,000 followers, died on July 7 following a bizarre chain of events witnessed by locals.
Murphy had been acting erratically at his luxury rental home before the incident. He returned to the village in a hired vehicle and tried to give the driver 1,000 baht, but the driver refused due to his behavior. He then approached another car, shouted, rolled on the ground, and made praying gestures before fleeing into the village when police arrived. He jumped into a 10-meter-deep lake and swam until exhaustion. Rescue divers found his body about 30 minutes later, roughly 20 meters from shore. His rental home was reportedly covered in paint splatters, and authorities found two unused syringes in his vehicle along with unidentified white pills in his waist bag. His 22-year-old girlfriend told investigators she had never seen him use drugs and couldn’t explain his behavior.
Murphy rose to fame in the mid-2010s with bodybuilding content and later shifted to spirituality and psychedelic use. Tony Huge, a fellow fitness influencer, said Murphy claimed to have “superhuman abilities” before his death. Autopsy and toxicology results are pending.
