Bebe Rexha has delivered her “love letter to music.” The Grammy-nominated singer released “New Religion” on Friday, March 6, a pulsating dance track that finds the artist surrendering completely to the dance floor. The single arrives as the fifth track on her forthcoming visual album Dirty Blonde, scheduled for release June 12 through independent label EMPIRE.

“New Religion” marks Rexha’s first major release since departing Warner Records for EMPIRE, a move she’s described as reclaiming creative control. The song samples the Faithless classic “Insomnia,” weaving the iconic riff into a contemporary dance production that builds to an ecstatic, hands-in-the-air chorus. Lyrically, Rexha frames music itself as a spiritual experience, a “new religion” where neon lights replace stained glass and the rhythm offers salvation.

The track opens with Rexha hypnotized by melody, pulled close until she “kissed the sky.” Throughout the song, she describes finding purpose in “churches filled with neon lights” and experiencing healing through sound. The chorus drives the metaphor home: “I feel the beat, I feel the beat, it’s like a new religion / Out on the floor, out on the floor, I found me in the rhythm.”

For fans who’ve followed Rexha’s career since her breakout featuring on G-Eazy’s “Me, Myself & I” or her global smash “Meant to Be” with Florida Georgia Line, “New Religion” represents a return to her dance-pop roots. The song’s euphoric energy stands in contrast to the confessional songwriting that characterized her 2023 self-titled album.

Dirty Blonde will be Rexha’s fourth studio album and her first as a fully independent artist. The visual album concept means each of the 13 tracks will receive its own music video, transforming the project into an interconnected audio-visual experience. Rexha previewed the album in February with a four-minute “supercut” curated by Diplo, giving fans a taste of the range across tracks .

The album’s track list spans genres and moods: Albanian-language opener “Çike Çike,” the defiant “$hit,” the introspective “Tokyo,” the emotional “Hysteria,” and deeper cuts like “Nobody’s There,” “Nightfalls,” and “Sad Girls”. Rexha has described the project as fearless,”no filters, no limits”, and a moment of complete creative freedom.

The rollout for Dirty Blonde has been unusually interactive. Rexha let fans vote on which track would become the album’s second single through a live voting system on her website. “Çike Çike” ultimately won, released in late February, with “New Religion” trailing close behind in the fan campaign. The strategy built organic hype while giving Rexha direct insight into what her audience most connects with.

Speaking about the new chapter, Rexha emphasized the importance of trusting her instincts. “This next chapter is about creative freedom, trusting my instincts, trusting my voice, and finally doing things the way I’ve always wanted to,” she said in a statement. “Following my gut has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my career”.

The “New Religion” release comes weeks after Rexha had to shut down persistent rumors about a potential collaboration with BLACKPINK. Speculation had swirled since summer 2025 when Rexha posted Instagram content hinting at the K-pop group, including captions like “Bebe in your area” and reposts of their track “Jump”. A Reddit post claiming a song titled “Fit For” had been registered with copyright organizations further fueled the fire.

Rexha addressed the rumors directly on X March 1: “No I don’t have a song coming with black pink. But my single ‘New Religion’ is coming this Friday March 6th. I’m just wearing the merch because I love them”. She later explained that any previously registered songs were written long ago and not part of current plans.

With “New Religion” now streaming across platforms, attention turns to the full Dirty Blonde album arriving June 12. Rexha has promised each track will have its own visual identity, suggesting a summer filled with music videos and continued momentum. The album represents her most personal statement to date, a project built on her terms, for her fans, and driven by the same love of music that “New Religion” celebrates.

For Rexha, the message is clear: she’s found her faith, and it sounds like this.
