Jennifer Williams, star of Basketball Wives, is facing a major disruption in her wedding plans after her fiancé, Christian Gold, was sentenced to jail just a week before their scheduled nuptials. Christian was taken into custody on Friday morning in a DeKalb County courthouse, Georgia, for violating his probation.
The judge handed Christian a 15-day sentence for the violation, a shock for Jennifer, who was present in court to support him. However, there was some relief as the judge showed leniency, allowing Christian to serve just two days in jail for now, so he can attend their Paris wedding, scheduled for September 14. Despite the ruling, Jennifer remained silent outside the courthouse.
While their Paris wedding is still on track, the couple’s post-wedding plans have been upended. After the ceremony, Christian must return to DeKalb County to complete the remaining 13 days of his sentence, ruling out any plans for a honeymoon.
Christian’s legal issues stem from a probation violation related to a false imprisonment charge, for which he previously served 30 months before being released in 2018. Authorities discovered the probation breach after social media posts showed the couple traveling outside the U.S. without informing his probation officer, visiting Italy and Switzerland in July.
In addition to the travel violation, Christian owed $12,500 in restitution, which he paid during Friday’s court proceedings. For now, he remains behind bars, while the couple prepares for their Paris wedding under these challenging circumstances.
