After making waves in Happy Gilmore 2, global music star Bad Bunny has his sights set on an even bigger future in film. The 31-year-old Puerto Rican rapper — real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — is ready to expand his acting résumé and tackle a variety of genres beyond comedy.

Speaking with E! News, Bad Bunny shared his excitement for where his acting journey might go next:

“I hope to keep doing comedy, but also, I am hoping to explore different genres, like drama… keep doing action, like Bullet Train.”

In Happy Gilmore 2, Bad Bunny joined forces with comedy icon Adam Sandler, who reprised his role as the eccentric golf legend nearly three decades after the original 1996 hit. Sandler had nothing but praise for the rapper’s on-set professionalism and dedication:

“They call ‘action’ and Benito is ready to go… he stays focused and was the guy he wanted to be the whole time.”

The Netflix sequel follows Happy Gilmore as he comes out of retirement to mentor a new hot-headed golf prodigy. But when an old rival resurfaces, he must rediscover the passion and grit that made him a champion.

While Sandler has admitted he “never even thought of” a Happy Gilmore 3, he also confessed he once said the same about a sequel — until fan demand changed his mind.

“For 28 years, I was like, ‘What are you talking about? No.’ And then all of a sudden, I was like, ‘Maybe’… people kept asking. And then it just felt right.”

The cast of Happy Gilmore 2 also features Ben Stiller as Hal L., Christopher McDonald returning as the infamous Shooter McGavin, Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit, and even NFL star Travis Kelcein a hilarious cameo role as a hotel worker.

Sandler summed up the ensemble vibe best:

“Every day someone cool would show up and we’d hang out. Everybody in it did a great job.”

As for Bad Bunny, Happy Gilmore 2 might just be his launchpad into Hollywood’s next phase — from comedy courses to dramatic depth and action-packed thrills.

Watch this space — Benito’s just getting started.
