Anthony Edwards Accused of Hiding Assets to Avoid California Child Support

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is facing explosive new allegations from the mother of his youngest child. Ayesha Howard claims the NBA All-Star “intentionally” concealed California-based assets to evade child support obligations for their daughter, Aubri’ Summers.

According to a request for order filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Howard says she has “discovered evidence” proving Edwards maintained a substantial business and financial presence in California for approximately six years . The filing alleges the 24-year-old guard deliberately misrepresented those ties under oath when he previously argued the state lacked jurisdiction over him .

The Edwards child support concealment case now asks a California court to revisit a previously dismissed complaint.

The court filing details several specific California connections. Howard states Edwards owns a business LLC and has registered business trademarks within the state. He maintains a bank account located in Beverly Hills. He also has current and prior sports agency contracts connected to California-based representatives .

“This newly discovered evidence demonstrates that Respondent maintained a business, financial, contractual, and economic presence in California for approximately six years,” the filing reads . Howard argues this satisfies the “minimum contact and purposeful availment doctrine” required for an out-of-state parent to face child support obligations in California.

The most serious claim in the filing involves sworn testimony. Howard alleges Edwards “deliberately concealed and misrepresented his California connections under oath” when he previously argued the state’s court lacked personal jurisdiction over him.

She claims both she and the court relied on his statements asserting no substantial business presence in California. The newly discovered evidence, which Howard says includes bank statements, was “not discoverable at the time of the original motion to quash because Respondent deliberately concealed” it .

The filing states Edwards “intentionally omitted and concealed long-standing financial California-based assets and financial activities at the onset of these California proceedings in an effort to evade personal jurisdiction and child support obligations”.

Edwards filed a paternity-related case in his home state of Georgia in September 2024, shortly before Aubri’ was born . A paternity test later confirmed he was the father. By April 2025, he agreed to grant Howard full physical and legal custody of their daughter .

Howard first attempted to pursue child support in California in February 2025, but the complaint was dismissed over jurisdictional issues. The new evidence forms the basis for her request to renew that original order.

Online rumors recently circulated that Edwards paid Howard a lump sum of $1 million to cover 18 years of child support. Howard has denied that claim outright.

“There are no court documents, motions or proceedings that have occurred, nor have I been offered or agreed to such terms,” she said.

Howard also has a son, Jason, with rapper Lil Baby. Edwards shares a daughter, Aislynn, born in March 2024, with his girlfriend Shannon Jackson. He is also reportedly the father of two other children.

Edwards is in the first year of a five-year, $244 million designated rookie extension that runs through the 2028-29 season . He earned $45.5 million for the 2025-26 season and has career earnings exceeding $131 million.

The legal question now before the court is whether Edwards’ California business ties, including his LLC, trademarks, Beverly Hills bank account, and agency contracts—are sufficient to establish jurisdiction for child support proceedings in the state. Howard is asking the court to renew her original child support order based on evidence she says was intentionally withheld.

The Timberwolves star has not publicly responded to the latest allegations.
