The addition of Chinua Achebe International Airport comes as Air Peace continues to cement its position as a leader in Nigerian aviation. Earlier this year, the airline connected seven other cities—Abuja, Asaba, Benin, Enugu, Owerri, Warri, and Port Harcourt—to its Lagos-Gatwick route, boosting options for domestic travelers with international plans.
For passengers flying from Umueri to London, tickets are now live on the airline’s booking platform. Economy fares for the Chinua Achebe-London Gatwick connection range between ₦1.3 million and ₦1.5 million, matching the rates from other regional airports.
The expansion also highlights the growing significance of Chinua Achebe International Airport, which opened in April 2021. Positioned as a critical hub for Southeastern Nigeria, the airport is quickly gaining traction as a gateway for both local and international travel.
Air Peace first launched its Lagos-London Gatwick route on March 30, 2024, with the goal of making international flights more affordable. The airline introduced economy fares as low as ₦1.2 million—dramatically undercutting the ₦3–₦5 million charged by foreign carriers—and business class fares starting at ₦4.5 million.
Since its entry into the Lagos-London market, Air Peace has sparked price cuts among foreign airlines, which reportedly reduced fares in a bid to compete. Despite the competition, the airline’s strategic expansions and commitment to customer convenience continue to solidify its presence in the market.
