Kodak Black isn’t holding back when it comes to Drake. The Florida rapper recently vented in a video, calling out the 6 God for failing to make good on a collaboration—and letting Kendrick Lamar swoop in first.

Kodak has every reason to feel some type of way. He was a standout feature on Kendrick’s Grammy-winning Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers in 2022, contributing not just bars but narrating pivotal themes across the album. But when it comes to teaming up with Drake? Nada.
This isn’t to say Drake hasn’t shown Kodak love. According to Kodak, Drizzy once dropped a mind-blowing $600,000 in Bitcoin on him. “That boy Aubrey! That’s my dog,” Kodak gushed in a previous MONTREALITY interview. “Drake sent me like 600 bands in Bitcoin. He said I’m his favorite rapper. I love that n-gga.”
Still, money isn’t music. Things took a turn when Drake and 21 Savage dropped their joint album Her Loss. Kodak revealed on Instagram Live that the project put him off the idea of working with Drake. “I had told Drake I ain’t wanna do no collab actually,” he confessed. “We supposed to been did a whole album together before him and lil buddy did that sh-t.” He even suggested waiting until 2023, but here we are—still waiting.
For fans hoping to hear Kodak and Drake on a track, the teasing doesn’t help. Kodak has hinted at a treasure chest of unreleased music between the two, saying, “We got so much music. It’s really on, like, whenever bruh might feel like he be ready… We got a lot of songs, though.”
Despite the Bitcoin and bromance, it seems Kodak’s patience is wearing thin. As fans, all we can do is hope the two patch things up and give us the collab of the century—before someone else beats Drake to it again.
