Popular artist Shallipopi has reportedly parted ways with music distribution company Dapper Music. The musician recently unfollowed the label and its CEO, Damilola Akinwunmi, on Instagram. Shallipopi’s latest track, Order featuring Olamide, appears to be his final project with Dapper, marking the end of their collaboration.
An insider informed Netng that Shallipopi’s contract with Dapper concluded, and renewal talks stalled. While some online sources claim that the split wasn’t entirely amicable, both Shallipopi and Dapper executives had previously shown mutual respect and appreciation for each other on social media.
If finalized, Shallipopi would be the second major artist to leave Dapper in recent months, following Seyi Vibez’s exit to pursue independence. Shallipopi now lists Plutomania Records as his label on Instagram, signaling his next steps in the industry.
