Nigerian music sensation Ayra Starr has captivated audiences while opening for Coldplay during their Music of the Spheres 2024 World Tour, which includes 11 sold-out shows across Australia and New Zealand. The Grammy-nominated artist delivered energetic performances of her hit singles, including “Rush” and tracks from her latest album, The Year I Turned 21, at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium. She shared the spotlight with fellow opener Zimbabwean singer Shone and Australian singer Emmanuel Kelly.

Ayra’s collaboration with Coldplay on their song “Good Feeling,” from their album Moon Music, marks a significant milestone. She is the fourth female artist to be featured by Coldplay, joining the ranks of Rihanna, Beyonce, and Selena Gomez.

2024 has been a stellar year for Ayra Starr, who made history as the first Nigerian female lead artist to receive a Grammy nomination. Her sophomore album boasts collaborations with stars like Asake, Seyi Vibez, Giveon, Coco Jones, and Brazilian artist Anitta, further establishing her as a global force. Ayra Starr is also up for two MTV EMA nominations—Best New Artist and Best Afrobeats—scheduled to take place in Manchester on November 10.
