Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has set a new record for the biggest streaming day on Spotify Nigeria. His latest single, Piece of My Heart, featuring American R&B star Brent Faiyaz, became the first song to surpass 1 million streams on the platform in a single day.
The track achieved 1.016 million streams on Spotify Nigeria, making Nigeria the 22nd country to see a song hit over 1 million streams on its Spotify chart in just one day.
Globally, Piece of My Heart debuted at number 90 on the Global Spotify Chart with 1.7 million streams, recording a total of 2.27 million streams on its first day of release. This milestone marks the biggest streaming debut for a song by an African artist in Spotify history.
