Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is sharing a major health update. The 38-year-old Jersey Shore star told People she currently has no evidence of disease, seven months after being diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer. The Snooki cervical cancer journey culminated in a hysterectomy on July 31, and she is now recovering from what she called a successful surgery. “As of right now, I am cancer-free,” Polizzi said. “They got everything out. So I’m definitely happy that I did it.”

Polizzi’s diagnosis came after she put off getting a Pap smear for an extended period. What followed was months of procedures that ultimately led to her hysterectomy. She said she’s beginning to feel like herself again, but is still recovering and learning not to push her body too hard. Her doctors also warned that the cancer could return, so she’ll continue being monitored with Pap smears every three months.

The reality star has been candid about her health journey, sharing updates with fans along the way. She previously revealed she was “terrified” after her diagnosis but chose to speak publicly to encourage others not to skip their screenings. “Get your Pap smears,” she told her followers. “Don’t put it off like I did.” Polizzi shares three children with her husband, Jionni LaValle.
