James and Chico DeBarge, the singing brothers behind ’80s hits like “Rhythm of the Night,” were arrested in Burbank, California, after police allegedly found fentanyl and methamphetamine during a traffic stop.

Police pulled over a Chevy Tahoe towing a Nissan SUV around 1:30 a.m. on August 27. James, 63, was driving, and Chico, 60, was sitting in the towed Nissan. Officers noted neither vehicle had license plates and neither brother was wearing a seatbelt. During the stop, police found suspected narcotics.

Both brothers were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. Chico also had an outstanding warrant, though its nature was not immediately clear. Reports have not confirmed whether formal charges have been filed. The DeBarge brothers have a long history of legal struggles, with Chico serving time on narcotics charges in the past.
