The legal saga surrounding Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker’s Atlanta eatery has reached a costly conclusion. A court has officially ordered their company, Burruss Tucker Restaurant Group, to pay $140,509.10 to the former landlord of their establishment, Blaze Steak & Seafood. This ruling stems from a settlement agreement reached in the protracted Blaze Steak & Seafood legal battle, resolving claims over back rent and property remediation costs.

The conflict, which simmered for over a year, began when the landlord, Montego Pacific, initially accused the restaurant group of breaching their lease. The original claim sought more than $200,000, encompassing unpaid rent and necessary repairs to the premises. The restaurant group consistently denied any wrongdoing throughout the process, even filing counterclaims against the landlord’s handling of the lease and property.

Despite denying the initial allegations, Burruss Tucker Restaurant Group entered into a binding settlement agreement with the landlord. This agreement was designed to resolve all outstanding issues between the two parties. However, the path to resolution was not smooth, leading the court to step in and enforce the terms of the deal they had already made.

The judge’s recent order confirms the validity of the settlement, making the $140,509.10 payment official. While the company is on the hook for this six-figure sum, the court’s ruling also brings a final end to the broader dispute. By approving the settlement, the judge dismissed all related claims and counterclaims, closing the book on the litigation. This means that while the financial obligation stands, neither party can pursue further legal action against the other regarding this specific lease.

For Burruss and Tucker, who announced their separation late last year, this decision closes a challenging chapter for their shared business venture. The payment covers the agreed-upon amount for back rent and the costs associated with returning the space to its landlord. With this legal matter finalized, both entrepreneurs can now shift their full focus back to their expansive business empires, including their other successful restaurant, Old Lady Gang, and various entertainment projects. The resolution, while expensive, provides a definitive end to the uncertainty that has loomed over this particular investment for the past year.
