Following its $8.4 billion merger with Skydance Media, the new leadership at Paramount Global, led by CEO David Ellison, has outlined its strategy.
The company plans to significantly increase film production, aiming to release 15 movies annually in the short term, with a goal of reaching 20 per year.
The focus will be on theatrical releases, with new installments in franchises like “Star Trek” and “Transformers,” as well as original and family films.
In a departure from industry trends, the company will also retain and invest in its cable networks, including Nickelodeon, MTV, and BET, seeing them as “brands to redefine” and key building blocks for their streaming strategy.
