UEFA displayed a giant “Stop Killing Children – Stop Killing Civilians” banner before the PSG-Tottenham Super Cup final. This followed criticism from Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah who called out UEFA for not explaining how Palestinian footballer Suleiman al-Obeid died in its tribute. Al-Obeid, known as the “Palestinian Pele,” was killed by Israeli gunfire while seeking aid in Gaza last week. The banner relates to UEFA Foundation for Children’s announcement to help war-affected children in different regions.
