Renee Rapp is sticking to her guns when it comes to how she handles the spotlight—and she’s made it crystal clear that media training isn’t part of her journey.
The 25-year-old Mean Girls star opened up during a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddypodcast, revealing that she has no interest in tailoring her words to fit media expectations. “I am truly just doing what I would be doing and talking how I would be talking,” she said, noting how strange it feels to watch herself back and see how others perceive her. “You’ll never be able to see yourself how other people see you.”
While her team has apparently tried to coach her into polishing up her media presence, Renee admitted she quickly rejected the idea. “They were trying to kind of coach me into what to say and what not to say… the second I realized it, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m really uninterested in hearing this.’”
Known for being outspoken and unapologetically real, Renee isn’t afraid to let her personality shine through. But that boldness comes with layers. In a past interview with InStyle, she opened up about being deeply emotional and highly protective of herself. “My biggest fear is being misunderstood. I’m a very passionate person. I’m very sensitive,” she said.
And while some may label her strong personality as abrasive, Renee sees it differently. “I think sometimes people construe that as me just being a b****. I just have very big emotions and I feel very hard,” she explained, recalling how exhausting it was to feel that deeply as a child.
Love her or not, one thing is certain: Renee Rapp is staying true to herself—and she’s not editing her truth for anyone.
