Justin Timberlake has revealed he has been battling Lyme disease, sharing the personal health news following the conclusion of his “Forget Tomorrow” world tour. The pop superstar made the announcement via an emotional Instagram post on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
Timberlake described the tick-borne illness as “relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically.” He explained that he was “shocked” upon receiving the diagnosis, but it helped him understand the “massive amount of nerve pain” and “crazy fatigue or sickness” he experienced while on stage.
Despite the challenges, Timberlake chose to continue with his extensive tour, stating that “the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I’m so glad I kept going.” He also expressed his desire to be more transparent about his struggles to prevent misinterpretations and to help others facing similar battles.
Lyme disease, transmitted by infected ticks, can cause flu-like symptoms, joint pain, and neurological issues if left untreated. Timberlake’s revelation adds his name to a list of other celebrities, including Avril Lavigne, Justin Bieber, and Bella Hadid, who have also publicly shared their experiences with the condition, raising awareness about its impact.
Timberlake concluded his heartfelt message by thanking his wife, Jessica Biel, and their two sons, Silas and Phin, for their “unconditional love.” He admitted uncertainty about his future on stage but will “always cherish this run.”
