I’m Kerry Katona has hit back at online trolls who continue to accuse her of being under the influence, calling the constant speculation about her past addiction struggles “exhausting.”

The 43-year-old former Atomic Kitten singer, who has been sober for over 15 years, shared her frustrations in her new! magazine column, revealing how damaging and relentless the comments can be.

“I get abuse and negative comments all the time on Instagram,” she wrote. “Every time I have hay fever and sniff, people accuse me of being on drugs — it’s exhausting.”

Kerry, who’s been very open over the years about her journey through addiction and recovery, says it’s disheartening that people still choose to drag her name through the mud based on who she used to be.

Her comments come in the wake of One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson temporarily quitting X (formerly Twitter) after receiving “hurtful” online abuse. Louis cited wild conspiracy theories about his relationships, his son, and even opinions on his late mother, saying the platform had become too toxic for him.

Kerry sympathised with the pop star, writing, “I saw that Louis Tomlinson decided to quit X after receiving some hurtful comments, which I think is awful. People can be so cruel for no reason, and it’s a real shame.”

While she admitted she prefers to stand her ground and push through, she acknowledged that sometimes stepping away is the healthiest choice. “If I was Louis, I wouldn’t have let the trolls win by coming off X – I think it makes more of a statement to show it doesn’t bother you. But I do understand it’s hard, and sometimes removing yourself from the situation is the best thing you can do.”

Kerry, a mum-of-five with three former husbands, also touched on the struggles of raising children in the public eye. She admitted that her kids, who were “catapulted into a different world,” have had their own issues due to her fame.

“They aren’t famous themselves, but people look at them differently because of who I am. I know my children have found it hard and they definitely have some issues that have arisen from it.”

Despite the criticism and ongoing battles with social media negativity, Kerry continues to speak openly about her past, her family, and her growth — reminding fans that change is possible, even when the internet refuses to let you forget.
