After months of online speculation, filmmaker and DC Studios co-head James Gunn has officially confirmed that the Amanda Waller spin-off series is not canceled and remains in active development.

Responding directly to a fan on Threads, Gunn firmly shut down swirling rumors suggesting the show was either canceled or being reworked into a different project like Checkmate. When asked if the rumor was “B.S.,” he simply responded: “Yes.” When pressed further about the show’s status, he added another “Yes,” confirming it is still moving forward.
About the ‘Waller’ Series
First announced in January 2023 as part of Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe Chapter One: Gods and Monsters slate, Waller was introduced alongside other key titles like Superman, The Authority, and Lanterns. The series will feature Viola Davis reprising her role as the ruthless A.R.G.U.S. boss Amanda Waller, a character she’s portrayed since 2016’s Suicide Squad.
