Nigerian dancehall singer Cynthia Morgan is setting the record straight—and she’s not mincing words.
The artist, popularly known as Madrina, has lashed out after being unexpectedly dragged into the escalating fallout among members of the Psquare family. Taking to her Instagram stories on Thursday, Cynthia expressed strong displeasure over being referenced in what she described as a personal family matter that has nothing to do with her.
The drama began when Peter Okoye, one half of the legendary Psquare duo, made headlines with a pointed post on X (formerly Twitter). In response to allegations from within his own family, Peter attempted to distance himself from past collaborators who, he implied, had been mistreated by his siblings.
“I am not May D or Cynthia Morgan,” Peter wrote, suggesting that unlike them, he wouldn’t allow himself to be victimized.
But the name-drop didn’t sit well with Cynthia Morgan.
In a series of emotional Instagram stories, the German Juice crooner fired back, accusing Peter of hypocrisy and emotional betrayal.
“I have mixed feelings about my name popping up like this,” she wrote. “I am not a weak person. Certain family members made it look like I was, and you @peterpsquare were part of that narrative—until the same thing started happening to you. Na me listen to una that time sha.”
Cynthia didn’t stop there. She recalled a painful 2020 encounter with Peter Okoye that, according to her, left lasting emotional scars.
“I reached out to Peter in 2020, and he told me not to fight with his brother because his brother is richer than me,” she revealed. “He made it clear that his support online wasn’t out of care. That meeting broke me.”
She went on to explain how that moment left her feeling betrayed, especially when attempts to speak out were met with gaslighting and labels.
“I had no choice but to keep calling them out online, and then they started labeling me as crazy.”
The singer also didn’t spare the Psquare family’s older brother and former manager, Jude Okoye—whom she accused of long-term mistreatment.
“Make una rest. Jude’s wickedness don reach everybody now. But God no dey sleep.”
Cynthia wrapped up her statement with a powerful warning:
“Do not use my name to prove a point or win an argument. I won’t allow anyone to use my name in vain anymore.”
Her bold response has since gone viral, sparking intense conversation across social media. While some fans sided with Peter, many others praised Cynthia Morgan for standing her ground and reclaiming her narrative.
