Sean “Diddy” Combs has found himself in even deeper trouble during the 17th day of his ongoing sex trafficking trial — this time, not for the charges themselves, but for his behavior inside the courtroom.
On Thursday, June 5, Judge Arun Subramanian issued a stern warning to Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, about the music mogul’s alleged attempts to influence the jury. The judge said Combs was “nodding vigorously” and making direct eye contact with jurors during testimony — behavior she called “absolutely unacceptable.”
She made it clear that if the conduct continued, Diddy could be thrown out of the courtroom.
“No, your honor, it’s not going to happen again,” his lawyer responded quickly.
But according to courtroom artist Jane Rosenberg, this isn’t the first time Diddy has made such gestures. She confirmed he’s been making facial expressions at the jury since the trial began in May.
Diddy Accused of Intimidation, Staring Down Sunny Hostin
The trial — already filled with dramatic moments — has also seen unexpected celebrity appearances. Sunny Hostin, co-host of The View, recently attended a day in court and later revealed that Diddy “stared at [her]” while she was seated in the gallery.
“I’m thinking, oh my goodness,” she said on the Behind the Table podcast.
“I spoke to his mother briefly in the bathroom.”
Hostin described the once-flamboyant star as looking “defeated,” “weak,” and even compared his courtroom attire to “Mr. Rogers,” suggesting his appearance may be part of a legal strategy to soften his image in front of jurors.
A Trial of Complexity and Contradictions
Diddy has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution, but the nature of the case — and the emotional weight of the allegations — has made it difficult for some observers to find a clear path forward.
Hostin hinted the defense may attempt to frame Diddy as:
“A complicated, flawed man with an unconventional sex life,”
“A domestic violence abuser, but not a sex trafficker… not a racketeer.”
This likely alludes to his history with ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who has publicly accused Diddy of abuse in the past.
Whether the strategy will work is yet to be seen, but for now, all eyes remain on Diddy — both for what he’s done, and how he acts in court.
