British-Nigerian rapper Skepta is not here for unsolicited advice on how to pose in pictures — and he made that very clear in a fiery response to fans trying to police his expressions.
The drama kicked off on X (formerly Twitter) after the award-winning MC posted a new photo. One fan commented, “Sha dey try smile small,” urging him to lighten up his look.
But Skepta wasn’t having it.
“Am I a children’s TV show presenter? What’s with you men keep telling me to smile in my pics? Blocked. KMT,” he fired back.
In classic Skepta fashion, the grime legend doubled down, questioning why anyone — especially other men — would feel entitled to tell him how to look in his own photos.
“Ain’t no mystery. I’m just looking at the camera so the photographer can take his picture. Unless somebody made a joke on set… what am I smiling for?”
The comment quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions online. While some fans agreed with Skepta’s no-nonsense stance, others felt he may have overreacted.
Regardless, the message is clear: Skepta will pose how he pleases — and he’s not here for fake smiles.
