Controversial journalist Kemi Olunloyo is once again in the spotlight—this time for opening up about years of alleged abuse at the hands of her late father, former Oyo State governor Victor Omololu Olunloyo.

In an emotional stream of TikTok videos and an Instagram post, Kemi stood her ground despite harsh criticism. She claimed her father physically and emotionally abused her and her siblings, and says speaking out has finally set her free.

“I am now FREE,” she wrote. “Free from bondage, trauma, and the Olunloyo generational curse.”

Known for her raw and unfiltered takes, Kemi hit back at critics accusing her of disrespecting the dead. “Why are people calling me all these ugly names? My dad portrayed me that way to the world,” she said.

She also pointed out that none of her father’s 11 grandchildren paid tribute to him, hinting at deeper family rifts. And in a major personal move, Kemi announced that she will never return to Nigeria again, calling Ibadan a place of “extreme bad luck.”

Reflecting on her father’s upcoming posthumous 90th birthday, Kemi described him as “wicked and selfish,” adding that his actions “tore the family apart.”

Whether you see it as courage or controversy, Kemi says she’s just speaking her truth.
