Reality TV star and entertainer Phyna has officially joined Yanga FM, and she’s making it clear—she’s here to shake things up, this time with full backing.
At the official launch of the new urban pop culture radio station, Phyna shared the motivation behind her move, saying she’s excited to express herself freely in a space where her energy and bold personality are not only welcomed but celebrated.
“I normally like wahala. Then I realized that as I do my stuff for fun, some people take advantage of it to treat me anyhow. But when the call came to join Yanga FM, I knew I could now do my wahala without stress,” Phyna said.
“So if you now have a problem with me, there’s no shaking—I’ve got backings. My show will never have a dull moment!”
Yanga FM, a new initiative from TVC Communications, is already turning heads with its mission to make pidgin English cool again and to elevate it as a medium for contemporary expression.
Speaking at the launch, General Manager Marvin Arimi explained the station’s fresh approach:
“Everyone comes in following the same radio pattern, but Yanga FM is bringing a twist. We’re here to change the game. Pidgin is no longer frowned upon—it’s cool now, and we’re giving it a global stage.”
He added that Yanga FM is Africa’s first urban pop culture radio station, built for everyone—especially the younger generation—who want to stay connected through relatable language and vibes.
