Popular twin DJs, Wanni X Handi, are living proof that Big Brother Naija can open major doors. Since appearing on the reality TV show, the dynamic duo has seen not only an explosion in fame but also a serious spike in the demand—and cost—of their bookings.
In a recent interview with Saturday Beats, Wanni shared just how much their brand has grown post-BBN:
“Before BBN, we were getting gigs, but now, we are getting more shows. Our price has gone up because more people know us, and there are more opportunities.”
The exposure from the reality show has transformed their careers, turning them into household names and top picks for event organizers who want to add flair and high-energy entertainment to their lineups.
Celebrating the Headies’ Return
Beyond their personal success, the twins are also celebrating a major win for Nigerian entertainment—the return of the Headies Awards to home soil.
Wanni expressed her excitement:
“It is amazing. The Headies has been happening for about 17 years now, and it is like the ‘core’ of Afrobeats here in Nigeria. It is good that they are returning to base, and we get to experience such an amazing programme at home.”
Owning the Decks with Confidence
When asked about their journey into DJing, Wanni explained that it was a natural path for both sisters:
“It just felt natural. It felt like food to be a DJ. As females, it felt like we were unapologetically owning that space, and it has been incredible.”
With a growing fanbase, high-profile gigs, and a strong brand identity, Wanni X Handi are redefining what it means to be female DJs in the Nigerian music scene—and they’re just getting started.
