Controversial Nigerian social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), has disclosed new developments regarding his ongoing legal tussle with gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.

In a video shared online today, Thursday, March 27, 2025, VDM revealed that a Federal High Court has issued a restraining order, effectively halting proceedings at the Magistrate Court where an arrest warrant had previously been issued against him. The legal drama began when the Chief Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, ordered his arrest over allegations of criminal defamation brought by Mercy Chinwo.

The gospel singer accused VDM of making defamatory statements about her on social media, which she claimed were both false and damaging to her public image. Additionally, she requested a court injunction to stop VDM from further commenting on her online.

However, VDM, in his latest post, showcased a letter dated March 27, 2025, allegedly from the Federal High Court, directing the Magistrate Court to suspend all legal actions against him, including the arrest warrant. He also expressed confidence in his legal team and took the opportunity to taunt others who have pending cases against him.

This fresh twist has reignited public interest, leaving many Nigerians eagerly watching for what comes next in this highly publicized legal battle.
