Popular Yoruba actor and activist Yomi Fabiyi has alleged that Adura Aloba, the younger brother of the late singer Mohbad, demanded a ₦3 million ransom in exchange for a video that allegedly shows a fight between Mohbad and his wife, Wunmi Aloba.
Fabiyi made this revelation during an interview on Kilarigbo TV, where he detailed his efforts to gather evidence surrounding Mohbad’s controversial death. According to him, he and his organization had visited Mohbad’s residence to inspect any available security footage that might provide insight into the singer’s final moments.
Alleged Demand for Payment
Fabiyi explained that Adura contacted him on social media, claiming to possess a video showing an altercation between Mohbad and Wunmi. However, Adura reportedly insisted on receiving ₦3 million before providing the complete footage.
“Adura sent me a message, saying he had a video of the fight between Mohbad and his wife. He demanded ₦3 million to release the video, which he claimed showed Wunmi hitting Mohbad’s head on the floor.”
In an effort to verify the claim, Fabiyi said Adura sent him a blurry three-second clip as proof. However, he remained skeptical and requested to see clearer evidence before considering any payment.
“I told him I would need to confirm the authenticity of the video before making any payment. But he insisted I must pay to get the full version.”
Fabiyi’s Investigation Efforts
The actor further disclosed that he checked with Mohbad’s neighbors to access any surveillance footage that might shed light on the incident. Although he gathered some evidence, Fabiyi did not elaborate on what the footage revealed.

The controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death has continued to generate public interest, with various accusations and counter-accusations emerging. Fabiyi’s statement adds yet another layer to the unresolved case, fueling further speculation.
