Former Big Brother Naija star Adekunle Olopade has opened up about why Ilebaye’s victory in the All-Stars edition holds a special place in his heart. In a candid chat with fellow stars Kellyrae, Jeff, and Topher, Adekunle shared a surprising story that dates back to their time on the Level Up edition.
According to Adekunle, during his stint as Head of House in the Level Up season, he was responsible for nominating housemates for eviction—a decision that led to Ilebaye’s exit in the third week. Reflecting on that moment, Adekunle admitted that he carried guilt for his role in her early departure.
Ilebaye’s win in All Stars is personal to me,” he said. “I’m happy that she won, and I’ll tell you why. In Level Up, I was Head of House, and our season was different because the Head of House nominated housemates for eviction. Ilebaye was one of the names I mentioned, and she left in Week Three.
He went on to describe an emotional moment after the season ended.
When we left the house, we were trapped in a bus because fans wanted to greet us. Then I saw Baye standing by the gate, and people were walking past her. This was someone who was with us on the show, and I felt so guilty because I put her up for eviction.
Fast forward to the All-Stars edition, Adekunle was overjoyed to see Ilebaye back in the house—and even more thrilled when she emerged as the winner.
So when we came back for All Stars and I saw her, I was happy. And then she won.
